A beautiful Naive antique 19th Century oil painting of a rural landscape, painted onto a wooden panel which was once part of a cupboard door or shutter.
Artists would often paint their works onto scrap pieces of wood or card if they couldn't afford canvases and this is a lovely example of such a piece.
The wooden panel has remnants of the original paint with a deep border of gilt paint around the edge of the painting.
Measurements are 52cm Square.
