A rare and lovely Victorian antique 19th century sailors souvenir valentine shell anchor diorama.
These sailors souvenirs were either made, or bought whilst at sea, for gifts to bring home for their valentines. The diorama in the centre shows a Victorian photograph of a seaside resort with some small shells and seaweed inside the domed glass. The shells are all intact and present and the wooden anchor shape is covered with red velvet which can just be seen around the edges. There is a small brass ring for hanging this to the wall.
Measurements are 28cm H x 21cm W across the bottom of the anchor.
