This is a beautiful 19th Century antique double sided oil painting on board.
One one side is a lovely seascape painting with a boat and fishermans huts, on the reverse is a beautiful portrait of a young lady. There is some damage to the portrait painting with brown foxing spots to the lower half of her face but both paintings are equally lovely.
The original frame has had lots of loss to the plaster and some very rudimentary repairs over the years. The frame of course can be changed if preferred and does not detract from the art work. The back of the frame was missing when I sourced it so I have had a piece of new hardboard cut to secure the painting which you can see in the images.
Measurements are 39cm W x 33cm H (seascape painting. The other way around for the portrait) in the frame.
The painting on board measures 26cm H x 22cm W(for the portrait) the other way around for the seascape.
