Alexander Gordon Sinclair was born in Perthshire & studied at the Royal Scottish Academy Life School & first exhibited at The Royal Scottish Acadamy in 1883. He especially distinguished himself with landscape painting and this cabinet sized painting in it's original painted wooden, decorative frame is typical of his work.
