They are purely decorative as they don't have the modern day fixings to sit on a lamp. They actually have a small chain hanging from a metal bar on each one which I have left intact, but I've just sat each one on top of a candle purely for decorative effect.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe chain could be removed if prefered or you could use the shades with a solar bulb as outdoor lanterns or in a greenhouse setting or you could attach a magnetic LED to the metal bar.
